Student Support
Special Education
Glascock County School System supports the Individual Educational Programs of students ages three through twenty-one years of age who are eligible for special education and related services within the district. Special education services are provided on a continuum from the least restrictive to more restrictive environments and are contingent upon educational needs of the student. GCCS provides a full array of assessment and special education interventions for students requiring such services. The school works collaboratively with students, families, and the community to increase student achievement and to promote post-secondary success for all students with disabilities.

ACE/Honors
GCCS Ace/Honors curriculum is designed to accelerate the students, create opportunities for students to embrace their natural curiosity, and enrich the students' learning experiences through cooperative learning. This is done through learning with resources such as coding, creative electronics, web design, video game design, maker-spaces adn building and design challenges. STEAM is used to encourge students to develope their creativity - problem solving skills, inventive thinking, imaginitive design, and working to obtain a more well-rounded skill set to tackle challenges.

MTSS
Glascock County School System emphasizes continuous improvement of our instructional system in order to help all students experience success. Each student participates in various district-wide assessments and screenings in order to gather data that drives instructional planning. If students are experiencing difficulty with a various topic or standard, then the teacher may implement a research-based intervention (instructional strategy) to help the students. For example, the strategy may include re-teaching a certain math skill to a small group of students for several weeks and monitoring the improvement of the group on that specific skill. This system of supports may be applied to all subjects and teaching appropriate student behavior. The school has time included in the school schedule for teachers and paraprofessionals to work with students on specific interventions that they might need over the course of the school year. Our goal is for all students to succeed!
Section 504
Glascock County School System serves students and parents in need of protections provided by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. GCCS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or disability in any student program. The intent of the school system is to ensure that all students with disabilities eligible under Section 504 are identified, evaluated, and provided with the appropriate educational services and accommodations.
